Tuning In and Most Requested

As a patient you will need a digital product like an ipad/ipod/smartphone/kindle, etc. to give you FREE access to Hospital Radio Bedford on 2 streams.  WiFi SPARK FREE and WiFi SPARK PREMIUM – the Premium being payable to access for additional services on the internet.  Use of in-ear/headphones would be required to avoid causing a noise nuisance to other patients.

Details of how to receive WiFi SPARK will be advised whether you are using Android or other digital services.

Emily and her Mum work on sorting out the pile of request slips from the past months!

The request show is the most popular programme on Hospital Radio Bedford and the request team visit hospital wards most nights to talk to patients and ask them if they would like a dedication on-air. The team return to the studio with the collected request slips and put the programme together so that people can listen in to their choices.

The eclectic mix and range of music chosen is always a surprise to the presenters who enjoy the opportunity to comment on the tunes selected as well as being able to share their experiences of visiting the wards. The choice of music reflects a complete cross-section of people in the hospital on a particular night, including patients, visitors and staff and as one might imagine the conversations are rich and varied; providing many amusing anecdotes to keep us all in good spirits.

Emily has done a wonderful job and as you will see from the listing has compiled a complete top 20 of the most popular artists. Perhaps it’s no surprise that Elvis continues to be the favourite, but with the  relatively new comer Michael Bublé in second place and Justin Bieber coming in at number five the request show continues to be a dynamic responsive programme that provides enjoyable bedside entertainment to the hospital and beyond.
